What's New

22 May 2025 - Prequel v0.12

We're excited to announce the biggest (and best) release of Prequel yet!

Unleashing Problem Detection with Engine v2.0

Introducing Engine v2.0! Our new detection engine provides sequencing, correlation, and negative conditions and allows the Prequel Reliability Research Team (PRRT) to deliver the latest reliability intellience to your clusters faster. Customers now also benefit from community CREs. New rules are automatically updated by PRRT every day.

Detections are more actionable and specific. They now include an impact and mitigation score to help you quickly prioritize your time on problems with the biggest impact or issues with quick fix.

The engine now also supports detecting complex failures, like too many workloads scheduled on a single node. Or detecting when problems in one service is causing user-facing errors in another service.

Improving Focus with Detection Grouping and Filtering

The default view into detections groups problems by clusters and workload. To help you prioritize your time, detections that are new to you are tagged. This more focused view helps you better leverage reliability intelligence in your environment.

We've also improved the filtering experience so that you refine your view into specific time ranges or environments.

Improved Log Investigations

We've improved our log investigation UX as we continue building on our roadmap to give users the same command-line experience as using grep and less. Prequel highlights neighboring detections in-line to help you correlate and visualize the problem.

Expanded Coverage from the Prequel Reliability Research Team (PRRT)

PRRT continues to publish new rules every day as they work toward expanding coverage across known issues, anti-patterns, and misconfigurations.
