Description

Keyboard input or the entire screen may freeze at times on systems using the Nvidia Xorg driver with GNOME.

Cause

There is a bug in the mutter package that causes input lag on Nvidia Ubuntu desktops. This bug was fixed in https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/3685 (GNOME 46)

Mitigation

This bug was fixed in the package mutter - 42.9-0ubuntu8

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vanvugt/muttersudo apt updatesudo apt upgrade

Then reboot.
